(Collectively “the Companies”)

Geoffrey Reidy and Andrew Barnden of Rodgers Reidy were appointed as the administrators of M. Webster Holdings Pty Ltd and Webster Asset Pty Ltd on 1 February 2017 pursuant to Section 436A of the Corporations Act.

Andrew Barnden and Paul Vlasic of Rodgers Reidy were appointed as the administrators to M. Webster Holdings (NZ) Ltd, which trades in New Zealand.

The Companies operate the retail fashion labels, Marcs and David Lawrence, across Australia and New Zealand. The administrators intend to review the operations of the businesses and continue to trade while the businesses are offered for sale.

An application was made to the Federal Court of Australia by the Administrators seeking orders to extend the period within which to convene the second meeting of creditors. On 24 February 2017 the Court made orders extending the period within which to hold the second meeting of creditors. The second meeting of creditors of the Company is now required to be convened on or before 23 August 2017.

Australian employee entitlements that cannot be met from the assets of the Companies are, subject to certain limits, covered by the Federal Government’s Fair Entitlements Guarantee (FEG) scheme (excluding superannuation) in the event that the Companies are placed into liquidation.
